Suitcases

When you travel, you cannot do without suitcases. Before you pack your bags, do check the regulations from the airline, train, boat or other travel company. Often there are limits to size or weight. And they are different for every company.

Paying for luggage has become fairly commonplace. You need to ensure your checked bags adhere to the size and weight restrictions set by the specific company, or you will pay an extra fee. Special items such as surfboard, bicycles or musical instruments as well as any luggage that exceeds the 50-pound (23 kg) weight limit of most airlines will incur an over-sized or overweight baggage fee. Ask your travel company whether you are eligible for any exceptions before you check your bags.

Cabin Luggage

There are no standard sizes or weights for allowed cabbin luggage (carry on). The allowed dimensions are approximately 45 inches (22 x 14 x 9 in) or 115 centimeters (23 x 36 x 56 cm) including handles and wheels. You will have to check the airline! Some airlines are very strict about their allowed dimensions.
